Xiaomi announces electronic waste recycling program in India

Xiaomi has introduced a new electronic waste recycling program in India in partnership with TES-AMM. As part of the initiative, the vendor is taking back non-operational, end of life electronic devices like smartphones, tablets, laptops, power banks, speakers, headphones, chargers etc. from all brands. The actual recycling process is being undertaken by TES-AMM.

Users can take part in the program by filling an e-waste recycling form on Xiaomi's website. After filling up their personal details, users can select the type of e-waste they want to submit, total quantity and remarks. Following this, an authorised e-waste recycler will contact you to pick up the e-waste from your location. Users can also drop e-waste at any of Xiaomi's service centres. Xiaomi notes that users don't have to pay any fee to recycle products. As an added bonus, the company will give users who recycle phones a discount coupon worth Rs 100, which they can use on the Xiaomi's online store to purchase accessories on a minimum purchase value of Rs 1,000.
